Starting Situation

Johnny Urban's backpacks have long been a staple in the cityscape of major German cities. The Hamburg-based brand is particularly known for its roll-top backpacks, which simplify everyday life with many special features. Even before our collaboration, they were successfully advertised via social ads, but there was still some room for more creativity in the creative execution. That's where we came in.

Approach

How do you present backpacks differently than on a person's back? With Johnny Urban, that wasn't so hard to figure out, because all products have different special features that conventional backpacks don't. So, we highlighted what truly makes a difference in terms of content and presented it visually in such a creative way that it really caught users' attention.

Result

In the first year of our collaboration, over 500 creatives were produced. With a broad mix of static images, animations, and UGCs featuring creators of diverse demographic characteristics, we successfully addressed as many of Johnny Urban's target audiences as possible at their respective points in the customer journey, thereby increasing ad performance by 95%.
