Starting Situation

At the start of our collaboration with 1. FC Magdeburg, there was little to no experience in the area of social ads. This was a proverbial "green field" for us, offering maximum creative freedom on one hand, but also the challenge of working entirely without existing performance data on the other. To still be able to make informed decisions, we first analyzed the ad strategies of other clubs and, most importantly, the adaptation possibilities of winning creatives from our other cases.

Approach

Our approach: A clear focus on two central business areas – the fan shop and ticket shop. To quickly generate initial momentum, we started with eye-catching campaigns such as a jersey sale, limited special jerseys, and promoting season ticket sales for the following season. Initially, we primarily used statics, animations, and video creatives from internal content. In the future, once a reliable data foundation is available, we plan to further enhance the emotional impact of the content through UGC.

Result

Even the first campaigns delivered impressive results: numerous sales within a few days and a significant ROAS speak for themselves. We are thrilled about this successful start and see enormous potential for our continued journey together. The testing phase has shown how strongly the topic can scale – and we are only just getting started.
